    Part techie, part marketer

Steve Rubel says ‘a new kind of career is emerging: enter the Geek Marketer’. I’m never too keen about the ‘geek’ part, but I think I am one. And frankly Steve, it’s hardly new: I’ve been doing it for most of the last twelve years.

I thought Steve’s article was interesting. I know what you mean about doing some of this stuff for a long time but don’t you think the difference is that senior management in corporate bodies are now more interested than they were a few years ago (or even months in some cases)? Isn’t what you have really been doing over the last twelve years about building up the knowledge and skills to capitalise on the kind of environment Rubel is describing?
