Credit where it's due: somebody on Twitter mentioned Plaid Live - a project I hadn't previously come across - as a 'multi-user lifestream'. It does a similar thing, aggregating tweets and blogs, plus Flickr and YouTube activity. But I'd argue it's something different: it exists as a separate entity with the purpose of being a lifestream. We're pulling the lifestream concept into a conventional website.

A challenging thought, Steph. Certainly there was something liberating about accepting that no matter how much effort we put into structuring Lynne's own site, her overall online footprint was going to be scattered very widely.... and making a virtue of it. It helps, of course, that it's all centred around one identifiable, consenting and malleable individual. Does that translate to the organisational level? Hey, maybe.

Very nice - lots of clever stuff in there as we've come to expect. I think the lifestreaming approach is very interesting - and I wonder if it has wider applications too for sites (maybe even corporate homepages) which often spend too long worrying about neat IAs.

Could search+lifestream replace the topic and audience-based IAs we see now?

@Matthew: You've read it right. We couldn't immediately see a nice way to render the 'tabbed' content if javascript wasn't available. By adding the buttons via javascript (after 'document ready'), we're trying to prevent the worst problems ever arising. @Duncan: No attempt to mislead with the graphic, purely a question of aesthetics. But if people feel it's misleading, we'll certainly take another look at it.

Looks nice. A tiny bit disappointing that the lifestream tabs don't appear if JavaScript is disabled, though - having some way to view history past the most recent 10 would help (sorry if I missed that, I couldn't see anything obvious) - but at least they're not appearing and then not working, which is better than most!

You're pretty lucky with the map in it being a constituency without boundary changes - the confusion is already starting...
