Some of the people we’ve been working with lately…

10 Downing Street

We’ve done a few bits of work with the Prime Minister’s Office lately, using what I’d call ‘old school’ rules. Lots of new techniques, minimal management oversight. And guess what - just like the old days, we pulled it off. The live coverage of the Progressive Governance Summit - a video stream, complemented by a ‘live blog’ which featured viewers’ contributions plus Simon’s official commentary on proceedings - was described as ‘phenomenal‘. And the website supporting Gordon Brown’s trip to the US, mashed together in a couple of days, was front-page news in the national press. Bigger and better things are in preparation.

Wales Office

We took a website which was probably the ugliest in government, and transformed it within a few weeks into a blog-based site boasting features many of their Whitehall neighbours would envy. Read all about it in the launch announcement.

National Health Service

We first launched the ‘Our NHS, Our Future’ website, supporting Lord Darzi’s year-long review of the National Health Service, in summer 2007 as a Typepad-based website; when the platform started to show its limitations, we redeveloped the site in WordPress, adding significant extra functionality - including close integration of YouTube video content, and a rare ministerial blog (with comments).

We have also built ‘mini-Facebook’ social websites in support of two NHS regional pilot projects. They give the project coordinators a communication channel to widely dispersed audiences, and allow participants to exchange opinions, ideas and experiences. They also aggregate health-related news content from several leading websites, helping members stay informed about the day’s hot topics. (As you’d expect, the sites aren’t open to the public - sorry.)

Ministry of Justice

We built the Governance of Britain microsite, which acts as a hub for various consultation activities across government, and tracks related discussion on various blogs and news websites using Yahoo’s del.icio.us service - a first in government circles. We’re currently preparing a major facelift for the site, as MOJ prepares for a big push.

Sky News

Based on previous experience in the Sky newsroom, we designed and developed a bespoke solution for rapid creation of annotated Google Maps mashups. Find out more in this article which appeared in the Press Gazette.

BHP Information Solutions

We have a long relationship with BHP, a marketing agency which helps connect large corporations with their SME customers. We helped them conceive and commission a website management platform which powers the website they operate on behalf of HSBC; and we’re currently exploring new ways to disseminate their news content via data feeds.
