		<description>I agree with JamesB. CiF is so damned big, and has so many authors, that it&#039;s very hard to follow. Plus the vast majority of articles posted there make no effort whatsoever to link to blog posts on sites outside CiF.

Part of the interesting thing with political blogging is that you somehow can relate to the people that are writing - they set a tone, a consistent line. Like or loathe Iain Dale, but you know what you&#039;re going to get when you read his blog. Turn up at CiF and it&#039;s anyone&#039;s guess what you&#039;re going to find.</description>

		<description>Interesting post - but I don&#039;t think Cif really qualifies as a regular blog. It doesn&#039;t have a distinctive voice as it has so many posters, and its posts are much closer to traditional newspaper comment than blog posts. There&#039;s a certain lack of irreverence - abundant in many big political blogs - on Cif. None of that&#039;s criticism of Cif, just observation.

I struggle to see why Cif would prevent the emergence of a left-wing counterpart to Guido or Dale. They&#039;re very different sites filling different needs. That said, it is still notable by its absence, so maybe you&#039;ve got a point...</description>
